"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service but the same Lord; and there are varieties of working, but it is the same God who inspires them in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good." 1 Cor 12: 4-7

It is through the service of our ordained ministers, bishops, priests and deacons, that Christ becomes visibly present to the church. Holy Orders calls upon the Holy Spirit to allow the men ordained to priesthood the special ability to serve the church by proclaiming God's word and offering the Eucharistic sacrifice to God in the name of the faithful. As ordained ministers they are further called to lead a life of service, self denial and charity by imitating the model of Christ in the world.
