Those suffering serious illness and those facing surgery and/or hospitalization are encouraged to request the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. The Anointing may be received in Church during weekday Mass, after Sunday Mass, or at another scheduled time. The Sacrament may also be celebrated at home with family and friends. Since the Sacrament may not be administered after a person has died, its is important to receive the sacrament as soon as illness has been diagnosed.
